OPEN AUDITION DATES FOR our 92nd season!

 

May 19, 2024 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

May 21, 2024 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Auditioners:

Prepare songs from the late 1960's from artists such as The 5th Dimension, The Mamas & The Papas, The Monkees, Simon & Garfunkel, Creedance Clearwater Revival, and "I Can Make You a Man" from Rocky Horror Picture Show & "I Don't Know How to Love Him" from Jesus Christ Superstar.  Do NOT sings songs from “Hair”

Please bring sheet music for the accompanist of the song you will be singing.

Come with comfortable clothes for learning dance.

Be prepared to read from the script.

Must be 18 and look under 30

Please note that this show deals with stage intimacy, intimate moments, and intimate themes.
While no nudity will be featured, there will still be moments where all cast are close to each other involving some levels of intimacy in the blocking. Please take this into consideration before auditioning, as this is a show that requires actors to be comfortable with these themes and concepts.
An intimacy director will be present throughout the process and we will create a safe environment for these themes to be explored.

Rehearsals 

Tentatively scheduled for Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays.

GENERAL AUDITION INFORMATION

  • Please bring a current photo that we may keep. You will be asked to fill out a Theatre Resume, with any prior experience...though none is required.

  • All auditions are held at the Milord Studio Theatre.

  • Covid protocols set forth by CDC and State of Illinois for indoor spaces will be followed as well as protective guidelines followed by the League of Chicago theatres.

    Interested actors will need to be vaccinated

  • Drama or Comedy – Be prepared to read from the script.

  • Musical – Check the specific show auditions for information on what to prepare. You will need to bring sheet music (in your key) for our accompanist. Be prepared to read from the script - and wear comfortable clothes/shoes for a dance/movement audition, conducted by the Choreographer.

The Drama Group is a community theatre. Actors – These are non-paid/non-equity shows. The Drama Group promotes diversity in casting. Performers of all backgrounds, ethnicities, ages, sizes, racial identities, physical abilities, gender identities (and/or non-conforming) are encouraged to audition.
